TGIF – I Need the Rest !!!
Its been one of those weeks. Work has been a zig-zag / tug-of-war with my trying to get back into some type of semi-normal routine … regularly offset by questions from Houston regarding various aspects of our plan that needed clarification ASAP. In addition to that, there was pressure from some folks to change aspects of our plan to reflect (more) late breaking news, which caused lots of stress – but in the end, level heads prevailed … as there will always be late breaking news … but at some point you just have to say “enough is enough.” As it was, we made two post-submission changes …. I wasn’t ready to make a 3rd or 4th and neither was Sr. Management (thanks God !!)
We also had finalization of a presentation of our plan at the President level, which is being given as I write this blog … that was a significant effort, as we had several pre-reviews at the VP level. There was a last minute rush last night to provide a bit of additional backup on some items … but nothing insurmountable.
Aside from the work, I have been fighting a cold since Monday morning. I’m beginning to think the cold is winning, although I am not ready to concede. We will have a knock down, drag out over the weekend as I rest.
On top of the above, I have been determined to watch Nathasya on TV as her role ends in about a week. The show is on from 3-4 am. Yesterday I was up at 130am (after 2 hrs sleep) … visited with Decy then went to watch the show … but you couldn’t see her. Thus, I had to have a “do over” …. so I got to bed last night around 11pm … and then up at 230am again …. this time I did get to see her. It was an odd feeling … she is an “extra’ and in this case was a waitress serving drinks in and around a comedy act. Sometimes she has a speaking part … this time she did not.
Today will be tough … between the cold and fatigue I’m fighting, but I will make it. I always do. Before too long, the day will be over … I’ll be home … I’ll relax … and then sleep until who knows how long.
*** Just heard Nathasya come in (415am) from her show, which is nearby our house. She’s off to bed for a couple more hours of sleep … then to school and an exam. Her schedule is pretty gruelling right now with the show … but she only has about another week of it. She is supposed to do the shoot every night (non-stop for a month). In fact, she only been able to make it about 5 nights a weeks. But, I have to commend her on her hard work and dedication … this is the first time she has ever had to make a commitment like this … (school & work) … and she is still only 16.
On that note, I think I will close this blog. I have some things to take care of … and want to take advantage of the extra 30 minutes I have this morning.
Ciao ciao. GBU
