Last Full Week of the Year
Wow !!! Hard to believe it is true … but … this week I work all 5 days. Next week (17-21 Dec) I work 2.5 days, then (24-28 Dec) 3 days, then … the year is done …. what a year … what a year coming in 2008.
In the meantime, I have a gazillion things to do this week and next. The stress is way too high. Tension is high. In addition to “normal year-end work” which is anything but normal, I am continuing to help process 900 resumes – resulting in 250 accounting exams (last week, this week, next week) – and who knows how many interviews (which are total about 15 today). Plus, argh, our external auditors have been asked to understake (from another party) a review that could constitute a potential conflict of interest …. and as I learned over the weekend … I must submit some documentation to our headquarters …. ASAP !!!! Just what I needed and wanted this week.
On a positive note, I completed my part (financial support) on Chely’s college applications.
Decy continues to make progress on Christmas presents. She says she is 90-95% complete. Plus, we landed on what we were going to do as a “special gift” to those less fortunate. There are two pieces to it …. young kids living at a orphanage (25 of them) and visiting some widows/widowers (3 of them). In a city of 15 million there are a gazillion needy folks … but this is where we landed.
Decy will start buying the stuff / presents this week. Next week after Chris, Paul, Stacy, and Courtney arrive, they can start packaging everything up. Our plan is to make the delivery on Christmas Day.
For the orphanage, we will deliver the gifts … as well as have lunch with the kids. Not sure how much CPS&C will like the lunch … but, it will be a good experience. In addition to other gifts, we want to gift each child a set of new clothes. This is a bit of challenge, but Decy is seeing what she can do about either (a) buying extra and returning the unused clothes, or (b) having a supplier join us (with lots of clothes) and then charging us for what is wanted.
Gotta run … time for cereal … its 4:57am …. ciao ciao

Would it be good for me to bring candy for the kids? I am thinking something really American, like Air-Heads. I know, I know, it’s a big stick of sugar. Still, kids are kids!
