I Must Resume Running


I haven’t done any running since mid December. My stride (yes, pun intended) was broken by the Christmas Holidays when the boys came to visit. Then, work has been gruelling with me working most of the time on both Saturdays and Sundays. Thus, I haven’t taken the time to run … and in most cases even getting a massage.

This is taking a toll on me and I feel fatigue in my body – while at the same time – having stress and nervousness building up. I haven’t felt like this in several years. Not sure what I can do – workwise it is only going to get worse. I can’t do anything about the commute – which costs me 2 hours a day (on a good day). Only thing I can think of at this point is exercise. Sooooo ….. but my schedule is such, I’m not sure how I can possibly exercise during the week.

I am pretty upset about my expat co-worker being pregnant and intending to take off work for at least 8 months. I’m not upset about her being pregnant – its her life, her family, her choice. Its just the impacts of that – this is putting a tremendous burden on the company and me. We brought her here to help the organization and to help our transition to a new accounting system and new operation …. that all happens this year with “flipping the switches” at YE08. Now, she won’t be here for the heavy lifting. No matter who the company brings in to help it will take them months to get up to speed … that means more work, more challenges, more responsibility will shift to me. I have a very limited organization (informally) reporting to me … and even if the organization was bigger, it wouldn’t relieve me of the emotional burden of the added responsibility – added on what is already a very heavy burden. Anyway …. I guess I just have to manage.

Speaking of managing, I have a number of crisis I have to address at work today. Plus, I am still working on my 1/2 training session (96 charts). So, I better try to squeeze in an hours work before its time to begin the commute.
