Another Step Forward
There is a lot going on with Chely – and things continue to move forward. Overnight all of her UCEALI paperwork was processed by the school. And, it is ALREADY enroute to Indonesia via DHL. I even have the tracking number. Tonight I need to go online to Homeland Security and pay the SEVIS 1-901 fee. Once I have done that, I can officially begin the VISA processing … which I will start this weekend.
Much of the details of this is a “blur” to Chely. I am handling all the details personally to keep things moving quickly – time is of the essence because of the long waiting period for Indonesians RE obtaining VISAs. However, Chely is very much aware of the evolving situation … its just that a lot of the work gets done at night … so she gets updated in the morning. Chely is VERY EXCITED about what is happening …
In the meantime, Chely has refocussed on her studies … her attendance is strengthening … she’s recently received to A’s in class – - – she is doing well. Of course, emotionally and physically her new braces have set her back a bit … and today she has the first 2 of 4 wisdom teeth being pulled. BUT – she is focusing on the good stuff in life right now.
As for Thasya, she continues to amaze me with her academic achievements. She brings me paper after paper … math, science, etc. where she is aceing the homework and tests. Ironically, she gets frustrated when the scores aren’t perfect or when somebody gets a higher score – but typically, that is being achieved using a tutor. Next week is her school play … and we will attend that !!!
As for Decy, well, she has now gone on to the 2nd level of her design class – already having completed level 1. Not sure how many levels she has. She’s excited about that. Plus, we now have the community assistance project we are coordinating. Decy had the kick-off meeting with the company representative. They confirmed the guaranteed minimum $5,000 in assistance. Next Tuesday Decy and Company Representative go visit the school and confirm the need and expectations. Afterwards, they start planning the assistance program and the public relations event when we present the contributions. More on this later.
As for me …. well, obviously there’s work … and at night, there is much to do to help everybody. I am doing ok. Really looking forward to this weekend – Tonight Decy and I go out, and we might see Fairus and his wife (one of Decy’s movie star friends). Friday is a holiday. Saturday is the big Company extravaganza. Sunday I need to rest and help move Chely’s stuff forward. Then Monday I am off to Aceh again.
Need to take care of some other things.
