Hello From Aceh

Yep, here I am once again. So, while I’m here in Aceh I see that my “fan club” has been commenting on my blog. I think this is the first I have received 3 comments on one blog. Usually I get “zero” – sometimes “one”.

Yesterday morning I went to the office early – then left at 10am hoping I could get a massage before the flight (haven’t had a massage in several weeks). Sadly, when I got there they were booked full until 12noon … flight boards a 1240. Ho hum ….. Overall, the airline flights were uneventful – which was good.

I arrived at 615pm, cleaned up, ate dinner, then worked in my cave until about 1030pm. Finally went to sleep around 1130pm … up at 4am. HEY ! That’s better than most nights up here … which is usually a 1215am sleep time.

Have a meeting today with the audit team and our company representatives. Then, I will spend most of my time working with the folks to discuss the issues and how to address them. As much as anything, I will be a cheerleader and counsellor for them.

Obviously, I am counting the days here … and the days until vacation. But, I am going to miss Decy and the girls tremendously. I have not had enough time with them …. and except for a couple of days here and there …. have had no real time off since vacation last summer.

This year will be incredibly tough on “family time” … between my grueling work schedule in 2008 and the need to take 3 trips to the without each other (Decy and I) …. we are going to really feel the stress.

However, on a positive note – in May Decy and I celebrate our 5th Wedding Anniversary. Yahoo !!!! Hard to believe so much time has passed so quickly.

Chely had her third wisdom tooth removed yesterday. The plan was if that one went well, they would also take #4. However, the root on #3 was very very strange and there was quite an effort to remove the tooth. But, good news is … its gone. Chely’s being a trooper in all this .. I know she will be glad to get this behind her …. now we are down wisdom #4 and the root canal (on a tooth that is already dead).

As for Thasya, sees getting organized for her school trip to Yogyakarta … which is the 1st week in May. She will be gone the entire school trip.

As for my lovely wife, Decy, she had an “expat ladies morning coffee” at our house on Monday. Decy said it went very well. This is the 1st time we have opened up our house for something like this. I know that Decy was nervous …. and on Sunday we had to run to the mall to buy a coffee pot … so she could make coffee (we didn’t have one).

Well, that’s about I can write this morning …. I need to clean up … and get some work done before the meetings start. Of course, I don’t have to commute to the office today … unless you consider walking 150 feet commuting.

ciao ciao
