What a Day (and a half)
Never allow yourself to be lulled into complacency. Yesterday I was just trucking along with my work thinking that things were going pretty good – not perfect – but pretty good. Suddenly, I started getting a series of pings on my email … a few challenges here … a few challenges there …. then suddenly a BOMB !!!
I started working the bomb around 2pm and did not stop last night until 11pm. Then up at 4am … and continued on. The bomb was only partially defused …. and once exploded the job switches to damage control. That is what I am doing now and will continue doing today …. damage control … with a ticking clock because I WILL be on the plane to the US on Saturday.
The good news is that with the excellent team work of some of the expats I think we were able to quickly move this from a potential “mortal wound” to “significant injuries, but in stable condition”. THAT is why I am here in Aceh right now … to address these kinds of issues – up close and personal.
I MISS MY FAMILY – On both sides of the Pacific !!!!
ciao ciao.
