So Much to Write About – So Little to Write About

There are so many things I could say today … about events, feelings, changes, life. Yet, I don’t have the hours to write … I have to leave for work before too long. Saw a UK-sourced movie yesterday. I think the title was “When was the Last Time I Saw My Father ?” It was based on a true story. Very challenging … very thought provoking. Helped remind me that sometimes we don’t always understand what we see and feel … and how others feel about us …. until it is too late. You should find it and watch it.

Things feel strange right now. Chris is in S. Africa. Josh is moving to Alabama and begins work this week. This week Paul leaves for 5 weeks in Chile. Chely is finished with high school and graduates tomorrow. Thasya is wrapping up 8th grade and is preparing for her “graduation” ceremony. This week is Decy’s and my 5th anniversary.

So much has changed over the years. Yet – so little has changed.

  • I’m still a desperado in many ways – although I have the love, caring, and devotion of a wonderful wife.
  • I still fret over money – although I have far more than I ever dreamed.
  • I still work too many hours – but it bothers me (physically and emotionally) more than in the past.
  • I still worry about how my work performance is being perceived – but recognize I probably only have 2 more assignments in my career
  • Christian music still touches my heart – but I feel at a loss sometimes
  • I still wonder what my children will be “when they grow up” – although most of them already have grown up
  • I still love my mother dearly – but at times struggle to express those feelings much less understand them

And, with that I should probably close this blog and ponder the wonderful things in life … besides it is 418am … and work is just moments away …

ciao ciao
