A Move to the “Dark Side”
Here in Indonesia, at Bank Niaga, they give “frequent user” points based on your average daily bank balance. Over time, you can trade them in for trinkets, vouchers (pizza, groceries, donuts, etc), or electronics. Over the past two years Decy has picked up a number of items valued at approx $750 cumulatively.
The most recent redemption of points was in interesting Acer computer. Its a little notebook about 8×11 inches and 1.5 inches thick – Maybe 1.5 to 2 pounds. It runs on Linux, uses firefox for a browser, and Open Office for basics (which is Msft Office compatible). It doesn’t have a hard drive, but uses flash memory (8 gig) and has an SD slot for additional umph and storage. It has a USB port or two (I didn’t count how many) and broadband as well as WiFi internet access.
I played with the little machine a bit last night …. but not much … after having worked from 430am to 6pm … plus commutes to/from work. Its very interesting. And thus, because of the software platform … you would say that we have moved over to the “dark side”.
Speaking of “Dark Side” seems our previously terminated driver (Mustafa) is up to his old tricks again. Apparently after having been gone a year he is now making contact with all the locals that have had anything to do with us, including Decy’s sister Dolly … trying to explain how he was right and and Pak Yono was wrong (recall the “majic” that he put in/on our cars to give him “favor/power” over us). He has also been to our house.
Apparently Pak Mustafa now now has “Majic-7″ and can control people’s minds. Well, from my perspective I say “bring it on” …. My God has unlimited power and no majic can stand before it. If memory serves me right, the power of prayer to God is on a log scale: 1 person = 10 to flight; 2 people = 100 to flight; 3 people = 1,000 to flight; add in a few family member prayers … and we are up to 1,000,000 or more to flight … I’m not to good in math nor in playing cards but I think that even the prayer of 3 beats “Majic-7″
Ciao ciao
