I’m Back …

Decy, Thasya, and I are back from Bangkok. For my close family you should have already been receiving short emails about all that was happening. I don’t have time to write everything in the blog – certainly not today. Overall, the trip are a success and “mission accomplished” …. some time away from the office and work – some time with family. Although I didn’t get any “down time” and I have come home quite tired, it clearly was a mental break.

To the best of my knowledge, all the luggage made it home safely and without damage. I didn’t check our stuff – Decy did essentially all of the unpacking. I didn’t have a chance to get a massage in Thailand and my back has been hurting quite a bit lately. Add to that – that I was the mule carrying the backpack full of stuff for 4 days – and my back is pretty twisted right now. So, last night I got a 2 hr massage (at the house) after we arrived home. It was a very good first pass – but I will need to have another one this weekend.

Key highlights of Bangkok were clearly the Tiger Temple near the Myanmar border where we were able to touch adult tigers (and feed baby tigers with a bottle) and the dinner shown named Siam Niramet. The dinner was just a cafeteria of Asian food but the show was quite impressive and was world class – the show was about Thailand history and culture.

Another key highlight is that I started talking to somebody on the plane from Singapore to Jakarta (which is unusual for me) … turns out the guy is part of the band Simple Plan (Thasya is very fond of them) and they will be playing here in Jakarta tonight (Thursday). The guy (Jeff) took my name and said that free passes (including backstage passes) for the 3 of us will be waiting for us tonight. Thasya is absolutely thrilled. I don’t know anything about this band (never heard of them) but Thasya played some of their music last night …. should be a fun evening … although I will be quite tired tomorrow.

I need to close this blog as I have to take care of some financial matters before going to work.

Ciao ciao
