One Day !?!

Today is Monday, August 4th. It is hard to believe it is already August. But, one cannot change the clock (at least a normal person with normal equipment cannot change it). Time marches on …. and before I know it, 2008 will be over with. In the meantime, I have a gazillion things to do – one of which is to go to the US to help Chely move from Connecticut to Tennesse.

I leave for the US tomorrow (Tuesday) – and thus, the title of this blog … yes, it is a 1-day work week.

I am not particularly excited about working today. I spent a lot of time working this weekend – catching up on emails and my “to do” list that needed to be accomplished before I left for the US. Sadly, I never left the house this weekend (which is true for many weekends) … came home from work Friday – went to bed relatively early. Woke up on Saturday and got a 2-hr massage (trying to work the kinks out of my back) – worked until early evening. Went to bed. Got up on Sunday morning and worked until about 1pm …. while Decy was at church.

However, I did spend Sunday afternoon packing and visiting with Decy. We had some very good conversations – talking about areas / topics that we don’t often cover because of time limitations, being tired, or other stresses.

There is so much going on at work, I will need to bring my blackberry and laptop with me. I will also have to dial in to numerous conference calls. In addition to a stewardship meeting later this week, we have 18 key controls-related meetings/teleconferences scheduled for this month. I will need to attend as many as I can.

So with that fine news – a vacation that is not a vacation (again) – I will close my blog and take care of some other things.

Ciao ciao.
