For Terry and Samantha – -
Many of you have seen in my blog comments about our friends Terry and Samantha McPhail. They live and work with us here in Jakarta … and did the same in Angola. They have a house that they have kept for many years in Houston while they fulfilled their expat responsibilities. Their home in Houston was their anchor and refuge against the varied and changing conditions we live and work in.
Sadly, Terry and Samantha’s home was severely damaged during Hurricane Ike. Not living in Houston made it worse as nobody was aware of the initial roof damage … which then allowed significant quantities of rain into house … which then took its toll on walls, ceilings, furniture …. everything. Terry and Samantha are currently enroute back to Houston to address the new challenges that they face.
In the meantime, they have a house here with staff and furnishings that must be managed. Plus, they have a dog that needs caring for. Another couple and Decy/I are going to help hold down the fort here for Terry & Samantha. We will be spending some nights over at their house. Additionally, with the Idul Fitri holiday coming up soon – Thasya will have a school break and can help take care of Baby (the dog).
Please keep Terry and Samantha in your prayers.

On a different note, I have a ton of work to do right now. Can’t go into all the details at this time – but I am picking up some new work related responsibilities associated with our upcoming SAP implementation. I have a lot to learn / relearn (recall we installed the same system in Angola) … and meetings start on Monday 22-Sept.
ciao ciao
