Yesterday (Thursday) was just one of those days …. relatively well rested – trying to do my job – trying to stay focused – trying to move forward. But nothing felt right. Just seemed like an underlying negative current. I muddled through the morning. I muddled thru lunch. Then a colleague in another department sent out an email to some folks trying to understand what the status was of a proposal that he circulated for approval (a proposal that he had worked on for 6 months that has met with one delay after another).
The response came back that it would be AT LEAST 6-October before the 1st person on the distribution list could review the pack. Argh – this was after this very same function held up the package for all these months while the package was being retailored to their satisfaction.
The response was all my colleague and I could stand. We called it a “day” … grabbed a taxi and went home. Because of the holiday traffic it took over an hour to get home again …. AND, it turns out the taxi driver had been in Jakarta only 1 month … thus, he didn’t know where anything was. My colleague and I spent much of the hour ++ telling the driver turus (straight), kiri (left), and kanan (right).
Anyway – Thank God it is Friday ….
