Monday Challenge
And so ends another weekend. Have a few things to report. First, on Friday the SAP Start-up Team came over to the house for dinner. We had a great time chatting, eating, karoake, having fun. Then I slept in on Saturday (yeah) with no alarm and no time table (double yeah). Saturday afternoon was nothing to shout about though – as I worked until about 7pm. BUT, I did shut down and enjoy the evening with Decy.
On Sunday, Thasya had a another modelling / acting audition so Decy and her left the house early (approx 9am). I had psyched myself up for a good run … so jumped on the treadmill. I was doing very well on a 2% grade and knocked out the 1st 5 kilometers in 32 minutes (best time ever on grade) … and was at nearly 6 kilometers when we lost power …. ugh … the staff turned on the generator and I jumped back on the treadmill. Got another 6 minutes into the run and we lost power again -> this time the generator set overheated (don’t know why). Well, that was the end of the run for me …. without electricity I was dead in the water … ARGH !!!! So much for that run.
So, back to work I went … plugged away until 2pm when a friend (Jeff McDonald) came over. We chatted a while catching up on business and personal items … just man-talk. Jeff’s a nice guy … he’s a “land man” and does exactly that … buys land for the company. That is a challenge here in Indonesia and he is not allowed to do any of the negotiations and can only work in the “background”. Its quite a challenge for him and quite frustrating not being able to actually buy the land … just advise. Jeff is one of the few company people I spend time with outside of the office and consider a “friend”.
Decy came home around 430pm and Jeff had to leave, so Decy and I chatted awhile, did some karoake, watched a movie … and then she walked on my back to loosen it up …. afterwards we went to sleep.
As for Thasya’s competition – time will tell. She’s very photogenic …. its just a matter of having the right opportunity at the right time.
ciao ciao

Paul, Josh, and I ran a 5K this weekend. The approximate times were Paul~27 mins, Josh~31 mins, Me~32 mins. I had lots of fun, it was my first 5K race. Of course, we didn’t win anything, but it was a blast.
It is good to hear that you are ’settling in’ to your new position at work and still having time to spend with family and friends! Miss you all!
