Just Another Day
Yes, another vanilla Wednesday. Really not much to blog about. I continue trying to make progress as Start-up Manager. Seems I spend too much of my time chasing rabbits and looking for resources than actually moving forward towards an orderly start-up of SAP. As anticipated, emotions run high everywhere I turn. People ask for help – and when I try to help, others feel offended or don’t want the issue discussed openly. Similarly, when we need to move towards change, I often meet resistance because “we’ve never done it that way” or “its too hard”.
What is clearly particularly frustrating to me is that I have yet to receive any resourcses to help me on the Finance side of the implementation. I hear they are coming … and folks are slowing being named … but none are here and none are helping. In the meantime, the worklist continues to grow and time towards start-up (1-1-09) is shrinking.

On an entirely different note, Decy is a bit ill – seems she caught some type of stomach bug. She was pretty much “down for the count” on Tuesday. Hopefully she will feel better today.
Also, there are a bunch of international kids coming to Jakarta to participate in some type of fine arts event. The school is asking for volunteers to house and feed some of the kids for 4 days. We have volunteered to house up to 4 kids. It would be around the 19th-23rd of November. We shall see what the outcome is.
Other than the above, not really much to write about – internet is sucky again here … up and down … slow and slower. Ahhhh the joys of rainy season.
Decy and I haven’t gone out in over a month … in fact, we are down to going out probably only once per month – maybe less. I miss those times together, but it seems like there always a conflict or I’m too tired. Such is life.
ciao ciao

Daniel’s sick, too. He has a barking cough and a fever. Guess we’re making a doctor trip today…
