Mid-Month

Wow, its hard to believe that it is already the middle of November. The SAP installation is bearing down on me … there is so much to do … and still inadequate resources to do it. I get lots of “help” from people telling me what I need to do – but very few (none) offers to help. I have to keep a thick skin on this and stay focused on the priorities and showstoppers, otherwise I will go crazy as well as burn out.

I did some work over the weekend, not nearly enough to even come close to catching up. But, more than enough considering at was the weekend … and I have a need and desire to spend time with Decy and Thasya. Plus, I need some time for myself.

Decy had agreed to help a friend on Saturday; thus, she was gone most of the day. I took advantage of the time and got a 2 hour massage. Partially offset by working most of the day. In the evening Decy and I did a bit of karaoke and watched a movie.

Sunday morning Decy and I both got up early. She went to church and I ran on the treadmill. Did pretty well running. Went 15.5 kms in 100 minutes (no grade). The 5 k splits were as follows: 30 min, 33 min, 33.5 min. I started out at a really good pace (for me) at 10.8 kms/hr, but couldn’t hold it past 3 k – that compares to last week when I held 10.6 kms/hr for 4.5 k. But, this time I went 0.3k further for the whole run – meaning I held a higher steady pace.

I feel good about my running, but without the ability to run during the week – the weekend run almost becomes “torture” and improvement is hard to come by and is only in small increments. I know that before too long I will have a “down” day and won’t break 15 … but I’m doing what I can. I can certainly feel my age after running – all energy is drained out of me and I don’t get a lot done afterwards. Oh well – that’s life.

Sunday afternoon Decy and I played pool and had some good laughs. Then we watched a movie and crashed (I fell asleep waiting for her to get ready for bed).

Thasya has another modelling competition on Sunday. This is supposed to be a “finals” …. whatever that means. Thasya is getting lots of good experience participating in these events. Plus, I’m pretty confident that sooner or later she will land a job or two.

Speaking of “landing” …. the Jakarta International School is hosting a singing competition with other International Schools. We have agreed to host some kids and we have learned that 4 girls from New Delhi India will be staying with us for 4-5 days this week. We think 2 are Indians (based on their names) but can’t tell on the other 2. The girls arrive (“land”) on Wednesday and will stay with us until Sunday morning. I’m not sure if I am ready to have 5 teenage girls living in the house …. even if only for a few days. It could be very interesting.

Well, that’s about it for today’s blog. Have a good one !

ciao ciao
