Monday Morning Update
And so goes another weekend … with a march forward on our SAP Go Live (I think that Chris and I are sharing the same experiences right now, but from different corners of the world). Overall the weekend was pretty good, although I felt stretched in too many directions. BUT, I did have a pretty good work-life balance.
The weekend started by having dinner at our favorite Lebanese Restaurant (at Hotel Le Meridian). We had quite a few folks: Thasya and her friend Erika; Decy’s mom (Doortje) and and niece (Dinda); my mom; and of course … Decy and me. The Chef (Hussein) came out and greeted us and fixed us a special meal rather than ordering off of the menu – it was a great combination of shrimp, fish, lamb, and steak. Also, there were two short shows / exhibitions of a belly dancer …. mom (Decy) recorded quite a bit of the dancing. Overall, a very good evening.
On Saturday, Decy went out to Ciputat to work with her family as they continue to gear up for expanding the shop into the “beauty salon” business – grand opening on 2 March. I received a 2 hour massage at home. Then Grandma Suzie and I did some house sitting for a friend. We finished off Saturday with a quiet dinner.
On Sunday, Grandma Suzie and mom (Decy) went to church. I was up a 6am and did a tempo run then began work. I worked until about 2pm. Then joined Grandma Suzie and mom in karaoke. Karaoke lasted until about 6pm. We had dinner and then watched the movie August Rush. By then, it was bed time.
As for the tempo run – I didn’t run very long (during the sprints). However, one was at 14.0 kms/hr and the other at 14.5 kms/hr. I did 2 minutes on each … and ran a total of 50 minutes. At 14.5 kms/hr that is over 9 miles/hr … and doing a 6.6 minute mile pace. While that might be slow for most people …. when I look down at my legs and feet, it looks incredibly fast to me … especially for an old man.
Sorry this is a short blog, but I need to do some work before I go to work.
Ciao ciao.
