Tuesday Times
And so goes another day in the life of a Start-up Manager. Lots of little issues to deal with yesterday … and I feel like I didn’t accomplish very much. But, a) at least I didn’t have the >260 emails to handle …. like I did last Thursday and Friday, and b) did manage to attend 4 hours of meetings to address key issues. I know that what I am doing is important. But, it also feels a bit thankless. Having said that, though, reinforces the importance of “how” I get through this and ensuring I have an appropriate work-life balance (something I am not use to).
I am SOOOOOO looking forward to my 6 day weekend …. Thursday – Tuesday. It will be nice to get out of town, away from work (no laptop, only the blackberry), and spend a bit of time with Decy and my mom. Just wish that Thasya could go with us.
Last night I had to do some troubleshooting on my new router. Not really sure what happened. Just know that the wireless aspect shut down (maybe I had done something to it) … which frustrated and depressed Thasya. Unfortunately, she hadn’t told me about the issue and suffered thru it for several days, including a weekend. I reset and reconfigured the router and all seems fine now.
Just received an SMS from Pak Yono, my driver. He is sick today. Thus, I will need to organize a taxi. Its too early for that … so I will make the call around 5am. I also need to wake and advise Decy … just in case Pak Yono is supposed to take Thasya to school.
BTW, regards to the Production House interview Decy had … they want her to do some acting. They recognize she has a busy schedule and might not be available until late February …. as I understand it, they had wanted to give her a bigger part … but will give her some small scenes to do … because of her availability. Don’t know the timing on this …. stay tuned.
Decy also continues to move forward with expanding her business, which is still in the early start-up phase. Yesterday, she interviewed a number of candidates to staff the beauty salon aspect of her shop. Guess training begins soon with an anticipated Grand Opening on 2-March.
Well …. I need to close this. Have a number of things I must take care of.
