Change is Blowing in the Wind
The week is flying by – thanks God !!! Between my normal workload, a ton of meetings (6 formal ones yesterday), and needing/wanting to spend time with Decy talking about current events and issues – seems like I have hardly had time to catch my breath. Now, it already Thursday and it will be another whirlwind day. Thus, with a blink of the eye – it will be FRIDAY !!!!
This weekend won’t be much slower. We need to buy Thasya a new phone (her’s was stolen) and us a new printer (ours doesn’t work with Windows Vista and now all we have are Vista PCs and the Mac). Plus, on Saturday afternoon/evening , Decy and I are going to a cajun festival dinner. Will need to sneek in some work and rest over the weekend too.
My assignment as SAP Start-up Manager is starting to come to a close. There is still an incredible amount of work to do and our Warranty Support to the business doesn’t end until Mid-April. However, plans are already being put in place for my next assignment. I already know most of the details, although they are not yet public information. Hopefully within the next week or two there will be an announcement. I will remain here in Indonesia and for all intents and purposes this new assignment will reset my time clock. Thus, an anticipated 3 years in Indonesia (2006-9) could easily turn into 5 or 6. Six years would be good for Thasya as that would allow her to graduate high school here.
In the meantime, I am focussing on my current job – trying to do the best I can with the time I have remaining – while considering how best to transfer my knowledge and experience to my replacement.
Well, I need to close this blog … have a bunch of things I must take care of this morning … and it is “already” … 417am.
ciao ciao
