Tick Tock – Tick Tock
Time marches forward. Sometimes it feels like it is racing. Sometimes it feels like it is crawling. Sometimes it feels like it is lurching. Today is Friday the 13th – that doesn’t concern me at all. What does concern me is that the next workday is 16-March. With the month half over, transistion of my work duties to Rhonda, my upcoming trip to Houston, and what is gearing up to be a very difficult accounting close – - I feel like I am going from one fire storm to another. Further, when I get into my new position, I will already be behind as planning activities have already started.
I want to focus on my new position, but cannot. There are too many issues and challenges that I need to address on the current job. I can handle that. What I can’t handle very well is political posturing and positioning to make oneself look better at the expense of others. Unfortunately, it is the last item that is emerging and something that is likely to distract me over the next few weeks.
Don’t misunderstand me, I am not the one doing the posturing and positioning – it is somebody else. For every force – there is an equal and opposite force. Thus, I will have to spend some of my time and energy counter-balancing the issue. I do not like doing this. But, I must to ensure that the company makes the right decision.

On a different subject – today is Friday !! Yeah !!!! In spite of the fact that I have work to do (boo, hiss), I will get to spend time with Decy (yahoo !!!) and go see Dino’s work shop (nearly done) and Decy’s salon (yep, yep, yep). Plus, hopefully, I will be able to get some exercise. As for Rest & Relaxation …. well, I don’t think that will happen this weekend.
