TGIF – Doubly
TGIF – and I really mean that. Although this week has been much better than last week’s in terms of commuting, it has still been incredibly frustrating and stressful. Between trying to move some things forward at work (and finding my rightful place in my new job) and having the emotional ups and downs with GW [...]
A Day of Waiting ….
Here in Indonesia it is now Thursday AM. Sometime this morning the Drs will take another x-ray of GW. I’m not sure what to expect and/or hope for. I know a lot of people in the US and Indonesia are praying for him. I have a number of meetings today – but Decy knows to [...]
Reprieve ?
Finally GW’s Specialist arrived from Bali. Did a visual inspection, reviewed the charts, etc. Said he wanted to postpone any surgery … apparently he was having doubts on the prognosis. Said he wanted new x-rays tomorrow and then would evaluate the situation. In the meantime, the staff continue “irrigating” GW to help him go to [...]
GW – Two Steps Backwards
Regrettably, GW has taken several steps backwards and is now back in the hospital. Assuming the Dr’s have properly diagnosed his condition, GW has Hirschsprung’s Disease. You can easily find it on the internet with the proper spelling. http://www.eapsa.org/parents/resources/hirschsprungs.cfm is one site (sorry, I’m not good at creating hot links; maybe Josh, Paul, or Chris and [...]
The Commute From Hell Continues; Plus Other Good Things
Both Friday and Monday were another set of days with commutes from hell. For whatever reason, rainy season is still affecting us and last week and so far this week the rains have been in the afternoon. That destroys traffic patterns and flows. Every night has been 90 minutes to 2 hrs to get home [...]
What a Disastrous Week
Yikes. So far, not one evening has gone quite right this week. First, we had the challenges of George W. Where on Sunday Decy worked all day and then brought GW to the house late at night. Then Monday GW went into the hospital and Decy was there until late at night. Then Tuesday it [...]
Yikes, What a Day and a Night
Talk about a sucky day …. very long day of work. Then traffic was absolutely horrible. It took me 90 minutes to go 1.25 miles (as the crow flies). Thankfully traffic finally cleared up and I was able to go the last 4.75 miles in about 30 minutes. I HATE long commutes like that. It [...]
GW and Xmas
Briefly …..
Decy was at the hospital today. Said George W. was looking much better but still had an IV in his arm and a feeding tube in his throat. According to the doctors it appeared that his bowls were clearing out bit by bit and they were going to take x-rays tomorrow. Then, late tonight, [...]
Still Standing
*** For the avoidance of doubt, I have no new news on George W. It will be probably another 4-6 hours before I hear anything.
Yikes, even though I TRIED to get a good night’s sleep it was at best 6 hours … and probably closer to 5.5 hours. Last night I waited for Decy to [...]
Quick Update on George W.
Per Decy, George’s intestine is blocked right now and he is dehydrated because of the difficulty in eating. The Drs are giving him medicine to hopefully loosen things up – apparently what they gave him yesterday was done rectally, so it wasn’t sufficient to clear things up. He is also on an IV for fluids [...]
