The Commute From Hell Continues; Plus Other Good Things

Both Friday and Monday were another set of days with commutes from hell. For whatever reason, rainy season is still affecting us and last week and so far this week the rains have been in the afternoon. That destroys traffic patterns and flows. Every night has been 90 minutes to 2 hrs to get home …. on a 6 mile commute. This absolutely destroys my evenings, what’s left of them – particularly given that Decy often doesn’t arrive home (or at least last week didn’t) until 830-ish.

The weekend was very mixed. Decy had girl’s night out on Friday – and except for a few minutes on Saturday morning, I did not get to see Decy until Saturday night. I spent Friday evening (until about midnight) working on finances. Seems I destroyed a lot of my data due to an accidental sub-directory delete. My newest backup was a month old …. urgh. The “rebuild” continued well into Saturday afternoon – then Decy got home around 8-ish. Sunday was spent with Decy, Thasya and Samantha where we had brunch together at the 4 Seasons and then did karaoke at the house.

On Saturday morning GW was released from the hospital. I got to see him for a few minutes in the morning. He looked very good. The doctors have said that he is a miracle baby and that God truly touched him. They kept looking at the before and after x-rays. The before one was when he arrived. The after one was about mid week. The only difference is that GW was put on various prayer chains …. including in the USA …. and God responded. The before xray showed his intestines all twisted and blocked up. The after xrays showed a normal situation. The doctors were convinced (at the outset) that surgery was needed … but God moved quickly when the prayers were lifted up … and surgery was cancelled.

Decy’s business continues to grow and has already reached a point where she needs to expand (yep !). She has talked to the owner of the Strip Center. Their house is right behind (and I think adjacent) to the building. They are going to annex some of the rooms of their house to and then separate and expand some of the workstations …. such as doing massages in the house. The agreement Decy is working with the owner is on a percentage take basis. This is a good low-cost option for Decy. She will need to put up a bit of cash for additional furniture, renovation and decoration …. but it shouldn’t be to much. Decy appears to be clearly cash flow positive, although she has not save a lot of money yet – buying the $1,200 generator set (for when they lose electricity) set her cash flow back quite a bit. Given that her business has been going for only 2 months – this is pretty amazing. However, Decy did a lot of research and found a market / pricing niche for this type of salon …. and she has established herself more as a boutique (personal touch) kind of place rather than the typical salon trying to push a 100 customers/day through. Good for Decy.

On that note …. I need to close this blog and work on some other stuff. ciao ciao. GBU.

Shore do miss them massages! Tried rice and shrimp in a sauce tonight but nothing compares to Wiwi’s cooking, sigh.
