Reprieve ?
Finally GW’s Specialist arrived from Bali. Did a visual inspection, reviewed the charts, etc. Said he wanted to postpone any surgery … apparently he was having doubts on the prognosis. Said he wanted new x-rays tomorrow and then would evaluate the situation. In the meantime, the staff continue “irrigating” GW to help him go to the bathroom. Apparently it is “working well” and he is doing his fair share of pooping. However, according to Decy it is not yet a normal color for a baby – of course, he is not eating normally yet either.
Tonight they fed GW with a bottle. Guess he only took about 2 ounces – but he didn’t spit it up. Perhaps with the grace of God and some time and practice, his little system will work itself out … and it is not hirschsprung’s disease.
Overall, Decy said that GW “looked good” it was just his tummy (now returning to normal) and the pooping issue. Guess that is what surprised the Specialist and drove him to want to wait and observe. I am all for the “waiting” if his body and system is stable and there are no risks of long term damage if they are wrong for waiting.
All we can do is trust God to give the Drs wisdom. Obviously, we covet all the prayers.
Thanks. Ciao ciao. GBU.
