Question: So what is the difference between a weekday and a weekend?

Answer: Only the commute and the number of emails I get.

I’m desperately trying to have a 4-day weekend (Thursday being a holiday) so I can spend time with Decy, Chely, Thasya … relax a bit … and catch up on sleep. However, this is being interrupted by a TON of work that must get done and can’t be done by my staff as they don’t yet have the skills … coupled with two wedding receptions to attend …. a birthday dinner to attend … and perhaps (hopefully) seeing Nathan and James from Singapore while they are here this weekend. Don’t get me wrong, it is very important that I see friends and support co-workers in their “life events” and I enjoy these things – its just that there is so many draws on my time and attention.

As for Wednesday at work, it was another whirlwind day as we held back-to-back meetings to present and discuss upcoming plans for our Indonesian assets (as part of our annual planning process). We have a number of these reviews (about every 3 weeks) at certain checkpoints in our process … each lasting a day or more. Finally made it home somewhere between 830 and 9pm. Crashed after eating dinner. (I’ve gotten up at 3am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday this week).

As for Thursday, I slept in until nearly 8am. Got a 2 hr massage (my back has been very tense lately) then took off for a wedding reception. Made it back to the house at 1pm and found lots of family members enjoying the pool and conversation. AND, baby Christian George was there. I got to hold him for a while and talk to him. He is soooooo small. I think he is still only about 7-8 pounds as his first month was pretty hard on him. However, he is eating good and starting to gain weight. Grandma Suzie has asked me to send a few pics of CG. I will try to do that over the weekend. If anybody else wants some pics, please let me know and I will “fat finger” an email to you with them.

During the afternoon I worked … until it was time to go to Ken Carter’s 40th birthday dinner. We were at a mexican food restaurant named Hacienda. Food was ok, conversation great. Chely and Thasya joined us – FANTASTIC !!! We came home around 10pm.

As for Friday (my vacation day) … I was up at 6am and promptly began working. At 830am I have a teleconference with Houston, which will last about 1 hour. Afterwards, I will go to Ciputat. I want to see how Dino’s shop is coming along … I think it is about 80% complete now … how Decy’s salon annex is coming along (should open in another 2 weeks, as they are having to install another bathroom) … and then will treat myself to a quick manicure, pedicure, and face/head massage. Sadly (he he he) I will be charged bule price not local price. But, its for a good cause. Afterwards, I will come home and work work work. Don’t know if I will go out with Decy tonight … or if I will go out with James & Nathan (haven’t heard from them yet) or just go to sleep.

Saturday will primarily be a day of work – but will start off with a jog on the treadmill. Saturday evening we have another wedding reception to go to. I’ll speak to Sunday’s plans in a later blog.

I need to close this blog so that I can get a bit more work done before the telecon.
