The Lost Weekend
Talk about burning the candle at both ends ! Last week as grueling – so much work during the day and telecons in the early morning and evenings. Finally made it to Friday wherein I had to go to a retirement dinner. Made it home around 10pm … after stopping to buy flowers for Decy … once home, I spent some time with Decy and collapsed. Woke up around 630am and turned on the a/c in the exercise room. Went back to sleep and didn’t get up until 9am.
By then it was too late to run on the treadmill because Decy had a photographer at the house taking pics of Chely and Thasya for the salon and one of the backdrops was the massage table in the exercise room. FYI – other backdrops included the upstairs red couch, the swimming pool, and our bathtub full of bubbles with both girls in the tub.
Anyway, I did what work I could and then went to a dinner event. Decy joined me about 9pm and then we made it home around 11pm, at which time we opened a bottle of Port and celebrated our anniversary (# 6). We did not drink even half the bottle …. just a few sips and off to bed / sleep – guess that is part of “growing old”.
Sunday, Decy and I got up bright and early. She headed off to church and I jumped on the treadmill. I was a bit disappointed on my performance on the treadmill, but a lot of it was due to my overheating … and afterwards noticed that the a/c had been adjusted during the photo shoot (urgh). Anyway, I did 15.3 kms in 100 minutes and burned 900 calories. I was pretty much wiped out. I spent some time cooling down and trying to recover but had guests arriving at 130pm.
I spent the afternoon and evening with Jeff McDonald and his son Rosstin (who is visiting during his summer break from college) until Decy arrived about 8pm. We took Jeff and Rosstin home and then had a late dinner. I again collapsed from exhaustion.
On Sunday afternoon Chely and Thasya went to a modeling competition. I don’t have a lot of details but I understand that Thasya was one of the “performers / entertainers” not a contestant.
Decy had two great days at the salon. We were anticipating this as this was “payday weekend” for Indonesians (most get paid once per month). Her expansion continues to progress and the staff and customers are very excited about it. While we are in Bali we are going to pick up some supplies and decorations at one of the local markets named Sukowati (Grandma Suzy, do you remember that place ?).
I have another grueling week ahead of me. BUT, good news is – it is only a 4 day week and early (very early) Friday morning we fly to Bali for a mini-vacation. Yahoo !!!!
Gotta run. Ciao ciao. GBU
