Its Going to be a Long, Long Day
Yikes, what a Monday – had two very long meetings today and it seemed like I couldn’t really begin work until 530pm. Worked until 8pm. came home. Ate dinner. Worked a bit more at home. Asleep at 1030pm.
As for today (Tuesday) I am up at 250am and already shaved, showered, dressed, and processing work-related emails. It is only 405am. It will be a very long day today. I will leave the office at 4pm …. arrive home … set my company computer up. Then join into two global meetings beginning at 6pm. Anticipated completion time: 11pm.
Somewhere along the way, I need to begin packing for the trip to Bali … and for my trip to Aceh. We leave for Bali early Friday. On Wednesday the 10th we return to Jakarta. Upon arrival back in Jakarta I kiss my lovely wife and two daughters good-bye and get back on the plan to Aceh (I don’t even leave the airport). Plane schedules to Aceh are limited … thus, I will need to overnight in Medan. I haven’t done that since 2001. As a matter of company procedures, I can overnight there only with Country Manager approval. I will arrive in Aceh on Thursday the 11th … work thru the weekend (the price of going on 3 days of vacation) and then return to Jakarta to begin another series of planning meetings.
Sounds like lots of fun huh?
BTW – in response to Stacy’s question / comment on my blog … yes, this Old Man Morgan is VERY OLD. I am now 51 years old. I am eligible to retire as early as age 55. It is unlikely that I will do so due to the impacts of funding 5 college educations …. of which, I am only half way through at this point.
Need to close this blog and get on with my work.
Ciao ciao. GBU.
