H1N1 – Its Here

And so, the Indonesia government has publicly advised that H1N1 (swine flu) has been detected in Indonesia. To date there are only 8 confirmed cases. Reportedly, essentially all cases are associated with Australian tourists in Bali (after we left) or folks visiting Australia or Singapore. Reportedly, there have been no human-to-human transmissions here in Indonesia. I say reportedly, because that is what the press says. I am no doctor and won’t even pretend to be able to determine the status. What I can say is that I am seeing an awful lot of folks with very running noses, congestion, and sniffles – an unusually large number (including me). But, I am not seeing folks with respiratory issues.

Notwithstanding the preceding, Thasya says that one of her classmates (school has been out for over a month) has a confirmed case of H1N1 … but there is nothing in the press about that … thus, I don’t know if true or not.

Had another very challenging day at work …. just a mere 15+ hours. After getting up at 3am … and at work just before 6am … worked non-stop (without lunch) until 915pm. Made it home at 10pm … had dinner and dessert (brownies with frosting … YAHOO !!!) then crawled into bed around 1130 or 12. Alarm went off at 3am. Couldn’t get up … so I “slept in” until 330am. Unfortunately, I think most of the week is going to be this way.

Need to close as I have several things I need to take care of before going to work.

Ciao Ciao. GBU.
