Great Idea – So So Results
Last night we (Decy, Chely, Thasya, and I) went out to dinner with the McPhail’s (Terry, Samantha, Courtney, Jordan). We went to a place called Lobster and King Crab. It is an incredible place because of its FRESH food (sitting in tanks waiting to be eaten) and cooking styles. We ordered the usual mix of shimp, crab, lobster …. and unfortunately, could not even come close to finishing it. We were all looking forward to the dinner … but the overall result was only mixed. There were too many other issues going on that dampened the overall result …. such as: Chely being ill, Courtney being ill, a security guard at the McPhail residence having a seizure during the afternoon, Samantha having an unexpected back muscle spasm.
So …. great idea … great intentions … great friends and company … great food – mixed result. Ahem, maybe next time.
Thasya was granted a new US VISA yesterday. It will be available in a couple of days. She had to go through a 3 hour ordeal for a 2 minute interview. It was pretty much a non-event for her given that she has had a US VISA before and is my step-daughter. But, there were lots of folks that were not granted VISAs and lost their non-refundable fee of $140 (paid in Rupiah) – which is a lot of money for most Indonesians. In fact, that is more than a month’s salary for over half the population in the country.
Other than the above, there really isn’t anything to blog about. So, I will close for now and work on some other things. Besides … it IS already 427am.
