Welcome September
So much to do … so little time to do it. Seems like I no sooner come off the peak workload of our Company Plan – although, I am still cleaning up a number of Plan items – that I am quickly gearing up in other areas. The work is relentless. At times, I think it is also thankless. And, given my age and most recent salary treatment – I’m beginning to think it is also ‘rewardless’. I don’t mean to go negative – the pay is excellent, the opportunties are rich, and I have done well in my life. Its just that I don’t know what is the next step – another lateral? Where is the next step ‘up’ – if ever? Nevertheless, I am going to remain cautiously optimistic that things will work out – that the financial and job rewards will come. Clearly, if nothing else, getting back into the business side of things (versus the accounting side that I was in for 2 years) is very much a positive for me.
Overall, there really isn’t much to write about. One new item is that Decy is opening up a blog site. She is still playing around with the themes etc, so be patient with her. I will also try to help her set up some photo galleries. Obviously, it isn’t a full blown website … and we may revive Deus Amor Elegante as we can … the site that Chris had built for Decy … but for now this is the best we can do. The muslim fasting month of Ramadan has begun. Work pace as slowed for many – due to fasting. Work hours have shifted (earlier) with most folks leaving at 4pm (I’m leaving at 7pm). Traffic has become more snarled then ever during the 4-6pm range. In about two weeks, however, people will start returning to their home villages and traffic will begin to lighten. Then on Idul Fitri (the closing of the fasting month) – which I believe is ~23-Sept – the city will clear out with about 4-6 million people being gone. Traffic will be a “joy”.
As I said – not much to write about today …. sometimes just not much happens in 24 hours. Thus, I will close this blog.
