Quake 2×2.0
Remember the dual core dual (2×2) and the quad core (4x) for PC microchips? Well, it kinda feels that way right now. After Wednesday night having a 7-7.4 earthquake in Sumatra (offshore Padang at 50 miles deep) …. yesterday morning it was followed by a ~6.5 earthquake, onshore Sumatra about 150 miles from the other quake but at about 20 miles deep. I felt the first, not the second.
The two earthquakes were different and distinct (not an aftershock). Sadly, the second caused more damage to the city of Padang (approx 900k people). Many folks are trapped / buried in rubble … and Indonesia’s ability to respond (especially in Padang) is very limited. The death toll is rising rapidly and was officially last at nearly 800.
Need to keep the affected folks in our hearts and prayers.

We are doing fine in Jakarta. Today (Friday) I will leave at 4pm. Thasya has a dance performance at JIS at 6pm and I want to attend that. Then, the weekend will be “sama-sama” … probably massage Sat AM, work Sat PM, run on treadmill Sun AM, work on Sun PM. I kind of doubt we will go out this weekend …. besides being busy and tired … we are trying to save some nickels and dimes for Christmas. However, I do miss going out with Decy … and very much want to do so soon.
For now, I need to keep this short. I have some work that I promised to have done first thing this morning. Which in this case means by 7am. I need to get started now.
